PLAYBACK OF CONTENT FROM PLAYSFORSURE-VERIFIED SERVICES

Collaboration with Microsoft Allows Dual to Develop Receivers That Support
Playback of Content from PlaysForSure-Verified Services by using Select Portable Devices

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 2, 2005 Dual Electronics today announced that the company will soon ship new mobile audio receivers that allow portable audio devices to connect with car head units, including select devices that enable playback of content from PlayForSure-verified services.

By supporting a select group of portable devices Duals mobile head units will enable playback of subscription and download music purchased from the growing variety of PlaysForSure-verified music services. Devices will also simultaneously be charged during in-car use.

Digital audio has been plagued with concerns about compatibility issues for way too long, said Robb Groner, Director of Product Development, Namsung America, Inc., parent company of Dual Electronics. Consumers want to know the music they acquire is compatible with their digital players.

Independent research points to the fact that over 60% of portable media player owners want to use these devices in the car. Dual is committed to satisfying this customer base and is excited to be working with companies like Microsoft and including the iPlug media player adapter with every head unit we sell.

Dual is delivering key solutions to enable simple and seamless playback of digital media from portable music devices in the car, allowing consumers to playback all their music, including content from PlaysForSure subscription and download music stores, said Chad Hodge, group product manager of Windows Digital Media at Microsoft Corp. Were thrilled that Dual shares Microsofts vision of enabling digital music anywhere whether its throughout the home or in the car.

The first compatible stereo head unit will be the new XDMP680 (SRP: $189), an AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA receive that will allow device connectivity and playback of content from PlaysForSure-verified services using select devices. Additionally, the XDMP860 will be able to control portable device playback functionality through the head unit via the new Dual EAUSB20 Media Player Interface Adapter, sold separately at a suggested retail price of $99.

Scheduled to ship in Q2 06, the XDMP680 features a striking faceplate that adds a dynamic aesthetic to automotive interiors. Crisp blue accents highlight the ergonomic faceplate, with buttons arranged for maximum convenience.
