DUAL ELECTRONICS TO SHIP XDMR7710 MOBILE RECEIVER
WITH MAXIMUM PLAYBACK AND RECORD FLEXIBILITY
Mobile Receiver Records Music On-The-Go Using Windows Media Audio;
Compatible with Select PlaysForSure Devices
HEATHROW, FL, May 16, 2006 – Dual Electronics today announced that the
company will soon ship the first mobile audio receiver to be compatible with
select PlaysForSure portable audio devices, and most standard USB “thumb
drive” storage devices via a digital media link adapter.
Scheduled to ship in July, Dual’s XDMR7710 (SRP: $249.99) is an
AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA/XM ReadyTM receiver designed to complement even the
most sophisticated mobile interiors. The unit features a piano black finish and a
motorized two-step detachable face that conceals the unit’s LCD display, which
is enhanced to include icons making navigation of portable media devices easier
and safer for drivers.
By supporting a select group of portable devices, Dual’s XDMR7710 enables
playback of legally downloaded music purchased from the growing variety of
online music services, including music purchased from PlaysForSure stores.
When connected through the optional EAUSB20 (SRP: $99.99), the XDMR7710
will display detailed file information from select portable media players and USB
Storage Devices (thumb drives). The EAUSB20 also adds the ability to record
WMA files directly to USB thumb drives from any head unit source; e.g., tuner,
CD, auxiliary, etc. These files can be recorded at variable bitrates between
32kbps and 128kbps.
“Digital audio has been plagued with concerns about compatibility issues for way
too long,” said Robb Groner, Director of Product Development, Namsung
America, Inc., parent company of Dual Electronics. “Consumers want to know the
music they acquire is compatible with their digital players.
“Independent research points to the fact that over 60% of portable media player
owners want to use these devices in the car. Dual is committed to satisfying this
customer base and is excited to be working with companies like Microsoft and
including the iPlug media player adapter with every head unit we sell.”
“With Dual’s commitment to support select PlaysForSure devices, consumers are
able to easily access their download and subscription digital music while in the
car,” said Chad Hodge, director of Windows Digital Media at Microsoft Corp.
“Together, Microsoft and Dual allow consumers the luxury of enjoying digital
entertainment anywhere, even on the road.”
Dual Electronics’ XDMR7710 AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA/XM ReadyTM receiver and
EAUSB20 Media Link Adapter will be available in July.
